In the Abruzzo region, these chocolate cookies date back to the last century when farmers baked them and ate them. During the most significant seasons of the year, it was traditional to dip special almond biscuits known as “Li Biscutt’ tajate a man”, which means “hand-cut biscuits”, into “Hot Wine”. Nowadays, they are known as “Cantuccini”. Traditionally, this recipe was passed down from our grandmothers.
